Ancient Egyptian Artifacts Revealed from a Sunken City

Artifacts from a long-lost underwater city are going on view in Paris this September. Osiris, Sunken Mysteries of Egypt at the Institut du Monde Arabe debuts the discoveries at Thonis-Heracleion and Canopus in Aboukir Bay, both ancient Egyptian cities once only known through the written record.

The Swedish House Built by 200 Million Clicks

Putting all of a country’s dream home ideas into one design could easily result in abomination, an architectural version of the bubble-domed, smooth-driving “Homer” carfrom The Simpsons. A house designed from 200 million clicks on the Swedish real estate site Hemnet, however, turned the online interactions of 20% of the country’s population into an austere exercise in melding traditional craft and modern minimalism.

70 Years of Glitchy Computer History Turned Into Music

Late at night in Great Britain’s National Museum of Computing in Bletchley Park, some of the world’s oldest computers awoke from mechanical slumber. Composer and sound artist Matt Parker made 126 recordings from seven decades of historical machines to preserve their endangered sounds and transform them into music.

Medindo 350 por 782 cm, esta tela pintada a óleo é normalmente tratada como representativa do bombardeio sofrido pela cidade espanhola de Guernica em 26 de abril de 1937 por aviões alemães, apoiando o ditador Francisco Franco. Atualmente está no Museu Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, em Madrid na Espanha.
